This shop manual is intended for use by service technicians of authorized Hyundai dealers to help them provide efficient and correct service and maintenance on Hyundai vehicle.

The first generations of Hyundai Sonata featured some of Mitsubishi engineering, the 2.4L and 2.0L Sirius I4 and the 3.0L V6 engine that actually based on the Mitsubishi 6G72 engine. Hyundai Sonata features 4 speed automatic and 5 speed manual, the US version of the first generation of Hyundai Sonata has 3 levels trim which were: GL (2.4 and 2.0 engines) and GLS (3.0L engine). This manual covers the Sonata GLS V6 trims with 6G72 Mitsubishi based engine.
